History

The Ohio Corvette Club Alliance was created in October of 2002.  It was formed through the cooperation of the following clubs: Capital City Corvette Club, Chosen Few Vette Club, Classic Glass Corvette Club, Corvettes of Hamilton, Corvettes of Lancaster, Cross Flags Corvettes Club, Central Ohio Corvette Owners Association, National Road Corvette Club and Southern Ohio Corvette Club. The Clubs sponsor The Gathering as a means to promote the fellowship, camaraderie and safe driving within the community of Corvette owners and to raise money to support the charities that are supported by the individual clubs. And of course, we have fun doing it! The first Gathering was held in Columbus Ohio the second Sunday in October of 2004. It was held in the Polaris area of Columbus. Response was overwhelming and the event overflowed to adjoining parking lots. After Gathering I it was decided to find a venue for the event that could handle a large number of Corvettes with facilities to support the spectators. It was at this time the Corvettes of Lancaster and the Lancaster Main Street Organization suggested the streets of Lancaster for the Gathering II.

Through the cooperation of the Lancaster Main Street Organization and all of the downtown merchants, as well as the City of Lancaster and Mayor David S. Smith, Gathering II was held on October 12, 2005. While the weather was great for Gathering I, Gathering II was greeted with cold and damp weather. Even so, Gathering II attracted over 400 Corvettes for the event.

With the weather in October being unpredictable, it was decided to move Gathering III to the last Sunday in July. Gathering III was held on Sunday July 30, 2006 and again over 400 Corvettes were in attendance. We had record attendance in 2009 with almost 450 cars .
